George Washington
George Washington was a hero during the American Revolution. The image of him on a white horse is often presumed as a heroic figure who has no fear and is a leader. George was a crucial part to the American victory in this war. The men looked up to him and his strict appearance helped him to have control over them. George was selected to be a delegate at the First Continental Congress. When the Second Continental Congress came along, Washington showed up in a military uniform insinuating his readiness for war. The Continental Army was created by Congress on June 14, 1775. George was made the commander in Chief of the Continental Army and is also one of our founding fathers. He was a very willful man. His troops were losing battle after battle and George never gave up. He never surrendered and continued to fight, and gave his men a positive attitude. His strategy and skill in the war was one of the main reasons they won. Washington also trained and recruited his own men. He didn't care what they were capable of, he trained them to be soldiers and fight like real men. He also pressured Congress to give them more supplies when they were hesitant about it. Washington was a man of leadership and civilian supremacy. He brought everyone (congress, colonists, soldiers, the French) together and kept them all fighting against the British. This unity among everyone was brought about by George Washington, and he will go down in history as one of the most heroic leaders ever.
